We had the opportunity to off-road with a Jeep Wrangler in Moab installed with Nitto RIDGE GRAPPLER All-Terrain Radial Tires, just after driving with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 Radial Car Tires, the Nitto RIDGE GRAPPLER All-Terrain Radial Tires have better dynamic hybrid tread patterns and sidewall construction that provided a much quite and comfortable off-road performance in off-road Jeep trails.
On-road performance on paved roads was a little disappointing, the tall tread blocks on the tires look similar to those found on mud terrain tires, and this meant we would experience fuel efficiency problems or loud noise problems.

We tested the Yokohama Geolandar AT Tires on several Jeep Trails, to test the performance of the tires on both wet and dry surfaces, Overall compared to other A/T tires for Jeep Wrangler, the Yokohama Geolandar AT Tires performed better in terms of dry and wet grips, and handling.
The Yokohama Geolandar AT Tires aren’t designed to work on snow and ice, and to our surprise, they were able to handle light snow, however, we would recommend them for Jeeping in snow, and we would recommend getting yourself all-season tires or Winter tires for Jeep Wrangler.
Off-roading tests were fair, the Yokohama Geolandar AT Tires performed well in terms of traction and excelled in handling and braking tests, we never felt the tires lacking in terms of traction on Jeep trails, however, we would recommend them for occasional off-roaders, and more to daily drivers.
On the highway, the Yokohama Geolandar AT Tires provided a comfortable driving experience, but we felt the tires were a bit taut compared to other A/T tires for Jeep Wranglers on top of the list.
In terms of noise when driving the Wrangler, the tires were noisy at high speeds, but less on city roads, giving us a mixed signal. The treads on the tires were able to channel dirt, mud, and water from the tires when offroading, and we were able to feel the improved traction in loose sand, rocks, and dirt after changing the tires from Yokohama Geolandar AT Tires.
On the highway, the tires provided much-needed traction improving the stability and handling of the Jeep, on high speed the traction was great for cornering, and the Jeep had no problem, however, we could hear humming sounds emanating from the tires.

We conducted a comprehensive testing process, dedicating one month to thoroughly evaluate each pair of tires after installation in our Jeep Wrangler. In total, our testing period spanned seven months to compile this report.
During weekdays, we put the tires through a daily grind of 40-mile commutes on paved roads. Weekends were dedicated to off-road exploration, tackling California dirt roads for distances ranging from 100 to 300 miles.
Here’s what we put them through:
- Off-Road Grip: We tackled diverse terrain – loose gravel, rocky climbs, muddy trails, and light sand common in California off-road trails. Each tire was evaluated on its ability to maintain traction, conquer obstacles, and deliver sidewall performance that inspires confidence.

- Feedback (Subjective): While steering feel is subjective, especially on our lifted Jeep Wrangler, we documented how each tire communicated road feel and steering inputs, allowing for precise control on and off-road. These observations were recorded after each month.
- Handling: Cornering, responsiveness, and overall handling dynamics were rigorously tested on a variety of terrains each month as we understood that our heavily lifted Jeep Wangler might perform better than the average Jeeper due to the air suspensions.
